# Timesheets and clocking on

## Clocking on and off

The timer in the top bar shows how long you've been clocked on. It flashes while you're clocked off, and changes colour as your shift gets long. Tap it for:

* **Clock On** / **Clock Off** (only the one that applies is shown)
* **Start Paid Break** / **Start Unpaid Break**: while you're on a break, a second timer shows how long the break has been.
* **Stop Break**
* **View My Timesheet**

## Your timesheet

Tap **Timesheets** in the bottom bar. Use the week strip, **❮** / **❯** or the calendar icon to choose the dates.

Each week shows its dates, week number and **Total Hours**. Each day lists its entries and the day's total hours.

* Tap **+** to add an entry for that day.
* Tap the pencil to edit an entry, or **×** to delete it.

A lock icon means the timesheet for that day has been locked by the office, and can't be changed.

## Adding or editing an entry

1. Choose the **Type of Timesheet Entry**.
2. Set the **Start** and **End** date and time, or use **Quick Set** for **7 hours**, **7.5 hours** or **8 hours**. The total hours are shown at the top.
3. Tick any **Allowances** that apply.
4. Add any **Notes**, then tap **Save**.

Your organisation sets up timesheet entry types and allowances in eBoard: see [Timesheet settings](/eboard/settings/timesheet.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://wiki.roaddirect.co.nz/mobile-app/timesheets.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
