# Jobs to quote

The **Jobs To Quote** tab of the [Dashboard](/eboard/dashboard.md) tracks quotes from the request coming in to the client's decision.

## Groups

| Group                       | What's in it                                                                                             |
| --------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Incoming Quote Requests** | Quote requests received from clients through the [Job Booking Portal](/eboard/job-booking-portal.md). |
| **Quote Needs Created** | Quote requests that have been accepted, and quote-only jobs, where the quote still needs to be prepared. |
| **Quote Done** | Quotes that have been completed and sent to the client. |

The columns are **Date Entered**, **Job Type**, **Job No.**, **Request No.** (if the job came from a portal request), **Your Ref**, **PO No.**, **Client**, **Principal** and **Location**. Filter by **Job Type** using the drop-down in the column heading.

## Quote workflow

1. **A quote request comes in.** Review it and accept or reject it (see [Job Booking Portal](/eboard/job-booking-portal.md#handling-requests-in-eboard)). Accepted requests move to **Quote Needs Created**. You can also book a job with the **Quote Only** job type yourself (see [Book a job](/eboard/book-a-job.md)).
2. **Prepare the quote.** Use **Quote Summary** in the job's ⋮ menu to see the details you need, and **View Job** to open the job.
3. **Send it.** When the quote has gone to the client, choose **Quote Sent** from the ⋮ menu. The job moves to **Quote Done**.
4. **Record the client's decision.** Choose **Quote Accepted By Client** or **Quote Declined By Client** from the ⋮ menu.

The **Quote Required?**, **Quote Reference/Rate** and **Quote Sent to Client** fields in the job's **Admin** section hold the quote details.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://wiki.roaddirect.co.nz/eboard/dashboard/jobs-to-quote.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
